Actively Ageing in a Digital World Program
The Actively Ageing in a Digital World Program launch was held on Wednesday 3rd September at the Elderly Centre.
It was great to have a virtual meeting with Ben Campbell from Telstra iVision & Jenny Hughes from Seniors Information Service to chat with us about our new system and how we can collaborate with them in the future.
Everyone in attendance appeared to have all enjoyed the new technology the Town of Gawler has been implementing.
There was certainly a lot of discussion about creative ways the program could be used, both professionally and personally.
The Actively Ageing in a Digital World Program provides digital technology training for HACC service recipients and other eligible community members.
We were pleased to have many enquiries about when the digital training would be available to the broader older community members.
The program, in collaboration with the Gawler Care & Share group volunteers, will provide an introduction to and training in a range of IT products: videoconferencing/internet facilities computers, phones, tablets and iPads.
This training joins the already successful Care & Share computer familiarisation regular sessions that provide clients with an introduction to the technology, all within the trusted and relaxed environment of the Elderly Centre.
We are looking forward to an exciting future for Actively Ageing in a Digital World.
Please contact the Gawler HACC office on 85221177 for further information about what is available through the program.
