Home security and personal safety is particularly important as you get older. Gawler Home Assist and Community Care and South Australian Police have information and services to help keep you safe and informed.
SAPOL Home Assist Program
The South Australia Police (SAPOL) Home Assist Program is funded by Home and Community Care (HACC) which is a partnership between the Commonwealth Government, State Government, Local Councils, SAPOL and other participating health services.
The aim of the program is to improve home security and personal safety, allow people to remain in their own homes and to provide a better quality of life.

The Police Service provides:
Free Security Audits - A police coordinator will visit you at home. You will be provided with a written document highlighting safety and security issues. The police officer will make sure you have the contact details for the Town of Gawler Home Assist office. You may also receive assistance to implement police suggestions.
Free Group Presentations - These are available to groups of 15 people or more.
Home Security and Personal Safety - This talk provides home security and safety tips.
Safety for Residents in an Aged Care Facility - Security and safety advice to residents in an aged care facility.
